Via de la Plata, Sevilla - Astorga, 700 km, 35 days
This is an important and very old branch of the Way of St. James. It is getting more popular. It runs from Spain’s south straight to the north. In Astorga it joins the main path, the Camino Francés.
This trail is also known as GR100. The GR100 however continues where the Via de la Plata ends: from Astorga the GR100 continues via León to Oviedo and Gijón at Spain’s Costa Verde. The stretch between Astorga and Gijón is sometimes also referred to as Via de la Plata. Another name is Camino Real or Camino del Salvador.
