Botswana
Description
Botswana is a flat and landlocked country in the south of Africa, largely covered by the Kalahari Desert. Also, Botswana is home to the world's largest inland delta: the Okavango Delta. This delta has no outlet into any sea, but empties into the Kalahari Desert, parts of which seasonally turn into wetlands as a result. On the eastern side of the Okavango Delta is Moremi Wildlife Reserve.
There are wonderful hiking possibilities in and around the Okavango Delta, for instance in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, the Linyanti region and the Selinda Reserve, where walking trails are set out for you to spot lion and elephant. But there is also Chobe and the Makgadikgadi Pans for instance.
Walking safari's are organized, and there are countless possibilities for staying overnight in, often luxurious looking, safari lodges and camps surrounded by African bush and desert.
